My name is Nergal. For years I lived in front of a screen while everyone else thought I was “just coding”. They didn’t see the part where I stared at a broken build at 3:47 AM, with my heart in my throat and my bank account bleeding out.

They didn’t see the fights. The “why are you still doing this?”, the “this will never work”, the “just get a normal job”. They didn’t see me refreshing logs instead of sleeping, or calculating how many months of runway I had left before everything collapsed.

Every time a version died, a piece of my life went with it. V1 to V13 are not “iterations”. They are funerals. Funerals for time I will never get back, money I will never see again, and parts of myself I had to burn just to keep going.

You see “V14” next to our name? That is not a version. That is a body count.

Thirteen times I built a reactor. Thirteen times it melted down. Thirteen times I watched months of work, money and hope go straight into the fire. Thirteen times I said “this is it, I’m done” — and then I sat back down and started again.

V14 is not the latest build. V14 is the one that survived. The night it finally connected to the chain and ran clean, no errors, no hacks, no leaks — that was the night I knew: this is no longer a project. This is a weapon.

Years of my life are hardcoded into this thing. Missed sleep. Missed days. Missed chances. Money I will never see again. All of it poured into one idea: you should not be a slave to your own solar panels.

While I was doing that, the grid kept doing what it always does: milking people who actually build and produce. You pay for the panels. You take the risk. You maintain the system. And some faceless entity buys your energy for cents and sells it back to you for euros.

That is what broke me. Not the bugs. Not the failed deploys. The realization that we are paying to be exploited in a system that dares to call itself “green” and “sustainable”.

The VSE Protocol is my answer to that humiliation. I didn’t build a coin to speculate on. I built a way to say: “No. Not anymore.”
